Climate Change Solutions?

I am preparing for a presentation to our Brighton Rotary Club on Monday Feb. 17th 2020.
The topic is about Climate Change and what to do about it.

I am aware that some folks just think it may not be caused by us humans. If you were drowning in a flood or be in the middle of a fire, would spent one second thinking about who is causing it? Probably not.

Well same applies to our home called earth. Living in Rochester NY for last 50 years I have seen the change and feel that the it is time to take actions that improve our world and make it safer for everyone.

Think about giving a gift of Nature to your community. It will be the legacy that can live forever.
There is no better way then creating small gardens with Trees and plants to cover the areas that have barren land or replace paved areas that remain idle with no traffic.

With Rotary help we are planning to build a Peace Garden at Rochester school 58 as a demonstration project. When completed during Summer of 2020, it will be a place where Teachers will take a small group of students and teach them about respecting nature, share thoughts about how Trees play a very important role to improve air quality and help create clouds by evapotranspiration.

We are happy to note that some Nations are now deciding to plant Millions of trees to fight Climate Change. As the planet warms ir would be essential to have shaded areas and Trillions of trees planted across the Globe.

This year on Earth Day take a pledge to do your part.

Thank you.

Dairy farm of the future will transform rural communities

It was so encouraging to visit Spruce Haven Farm in Cayuga County NY and learn latest innovation in dairy technologies.  They are working with Cornell University, NY State, Federal and International companies in developing new agricultural practices to help fight Global warming and reduce green house gas emissions.

Spruce Haven farm is located in the Town of Fleming within Finger lakes, NY region. It offers the visitors great natural beauty and is the home for many Wineries. Its location  between Cayuga Lake and Owasco Lake is part of the watershed that drains into the lakes. Many dairy farms exist in this area and all of these businesses are looking to be a better neighbor and protect their local natural resources.

Unfortunately, algal growth is now affecting the recreational value of these lakes and pointing out the need to stop the discharge of nutrients such as Nitrogen and Phosphorous. Treatment of Manure from Dairies is a priority for protecting our water resources. Anaerobic digesters offer the technology for generating bio-gas energy as byproduct while providing treated effluent to apply on farm land to grow feed for the cows. News products such as natural organic fertilizer etc. can be made while controlling the feed to the cows to generate higher value milk to increase revenues for the Dairies.

I was happy to see that these farms now are looking to be the economic engine to drive local economy. They are striving for Happiness for everyone.

 Better days are ahead!

Smart Communities Dealing with Climate Adaptation

As we watched the Hurricane Irma reach category 5 status and literally suck the water near Bahama's shore lines, the force of mother nature was clearly demonstrated. What it means when over 10 ft of water comes on land as" ocean surge" in Naples area shore line is not imaginable.

The damage caused by "Irma" may exceed hurricane Harvey which came to Houston Texas about a week ago. Unfortunately, this is the reality of new Climate future where Communities have to deal with repairing damage and then plan what to do to prevent or reduce it in future.

When it comes to Climate, the word " change" is advisable to be NOT mentioned to any Municipal Government official,  if we want to avoid political discussions. What sense does it make to argue about who caused the current extreme climate events. It is lot easier to shift the focus on the word "adaptation" and try to implement Climate smart solutions.

Smart communities can learn from the recent climate related experiences in Texas and Florida and plan about preventive approaches that apply to their local conditions. Existing Infrastructure assessment should be undertaken to identify what retrofits should be made to reduce and prevent future damage. Storm water management with Green measure can help conserve water and prevent flooding. Energy is another sector that becomes critical to sustain when power fails and so many homes are inconvenienced. Time has come to for achieving energy resiliency by building solar power farms with energy storage batteries to help maintain power during Utility grid failures.

We are lucky in New York State where Climate Smart Communities are given incentives and grants
to finance renewable energy systems and qualify for many improvements to help the community. The role for Municipal engineering firms is now to focus on Climate adaptation strategies and help small Towns and Villages take the pledge for Climate Smart community designation and start strategic planning as soon as possible. Economic development of these communities will depend on building infrastructure improvements necessary to adapt to the new realities of extreme climate events.

Nature is not bound by politics or geographic boundaries. Smart leaders would think about what is best for their tax payers and how to reduce the costs of operation and the risks of Climate related damages.

Independence Day July 4th has new Meaning and New Vision- "Goodbye Oil" is coming soon

Look at the news headlines related to Renewable Energy and Energy Storage in June..2017,  the message is that Future is very bright in this field.

Climate change is a great challenge to us all and it offers tremendous opportunity to make transformational changes in the world.

We work with small Municipalities in New York State and most still operate in the old paradigm. If no change is made then they may miss the opportunity to become Energy Independent. It is not a dream anymore as we can achieve it now with help from current incentives and lowering cost of hardware.

Can you imaging that in 2017-2018 electric power can be made cheaper by the consumer as compared to power company. Abundant solar energy is for everyone and every location should look at natural resources that can help them reach energy independence.

The transportation industry is about to see " Goodbye Gasoline" in near future, as new cars that go for 250 to 350 miles on one charge are available and affordable in coming years. Self driving cars and cars that do not have exhaust are Clean smart cars that will make big cities livable and healthy. Charge them at  night and use them for micro-gird management when power fails. These are ideas of today made possible in near future.

I am very hopeful that a new vision is about to become reality as we approach 2020. I certainly plan to switch to EV in next 2 years and say "Goodbye to Oil". This 20/20 vision is now possible due to new technology development and incentives to invest in Clean power.

Better days are ahead! Let us go Green and say Goodbye to Oil.
Future Independence Days would have lot more meaning as we work together.

Climate change adaptation with Energy Independence

There is change in the air as we go through the final days before elections. It happens to be the same time where scientists are discovering that our Glaciers are melting faster than original projections. Unfortunately, some people still believe that it is not happening and ignoring all the photos and videos that clearly make the point. Their minds are made up for some political reason and facts may not mean anything.

We hope that our Leaders who are elected this November hang their party affiliation out side the door of the Congress, Senate and White house and deal with reality and listen to professionals who have spent lifetime doing what they do and care about our earth and future of the planet.

Fortunately in New York, we have a progressive goals and vision to be 30 -50% renewable energy users for all Government facilities using the available solar and renewable energy incentives. Under NYSERDA grant program, NY based communities  can become certified as Clean Energy Communities and seek 100% grant to implement programs that will enable them to meet the goals of reducing GHG emissions. This will allow them to plan the strategy to reduce energy consumption and shift to cleaner fuels and promote Green sustainable solutions.

Communities making all of their power at large community shared solar farms is here now and this will allow them to become energy Independent and be part of the Climate change solution. Now it is up to the leaders of these communities to decide and take a positive step toward making them energy smart and efficient users of Clean power.

Good Luck!

Climate Change Solutions Sought at Paris Global Summit. Goals set to save the Earth!

This is a historic day for the world. We are grateful for all the people who participated in the Paris meeting and made their contribution to the world.
There are folks that will point out what is not in the Climate Plan and others will point that at least this issue was publicly discussed over 2 weeks and a common consensus was reached by all.
Silently many technology research scientists work on new innovations that would be making transformation changes simply based on saving money for the people. Renewable energy is no longer a more expensive option. Solar and Wind can now compete with old  power production technologies and provide power at cheaper rates to the customers. Many progressive States like New York are promoting the distributed generation where the customer is encouraged to make their own power while connected to the grid.
The rapid rise of solar power was reflected by large commitments made by India, China and others.
What to expect in next 10 years? Whatever the Climate Plan says may be superseded by the reality that solar power is the smarter way to meet the future energy demands. Even solar PV power have been installed in oil rich middle eastern countries. What is next?
The future looks good for renewable energy and energy conservation, as the cheaper energy storage batteries will make the Utility companies not as relevant as in the past. If renewable power can be made for 5 cents per Kwh then why would anyone build a coal or oil fired power plants. It is time to shut these old polluting plants and shift to clean power.
God by to expensive oil is possible if all of us decide to curb our use and use most efficient clean fuels.
Seek energy independence for the sake of next generation and saving the earth!

Climate Change Solutions NOW.. Pope Says to the World during Visit to America

Sustainability when linked to Climate Change is now on top of the World's agenda for action. The Pope visiting America this week is the blessing for humanity for the protection of our planet. Environmental justice for million of poor suffering people requires action by leading developed countries. They live in wrong places led by Greedy dictators, Crazy Terrorists armed by Soviet and American made weapons, or in low lying lands where change is rising of ocean levels will cause mass migration.

Unfortunately there are many smart and educated people who have given their Political ideology more value and ignoring the truth. There is no Global Warming and no Climate change caused by man is what they are trying to tell us therefore no need to act.It is time to face the Truth and think about what is Good for People and not their Party. This is People issue and not any one political party.

Are we ready to deal with it? Pope's message is right on the mark. As religious leader he is living the role when he says serving the poor and needy is the practice of true religion. The community leaders of today in rural America have as much responsibility and opportunity to act as the President of USA or Congress.

So how do we create sustainable green communities in our own Villages and Towns? Transform these areas into resilient energy independent neighborhoods that demonstrates conservation of water and creating healthy life style consuming locally grown food products.

In New York we can start with building community shared solar neighborhoods where members with low economic level can get cheap power and join other small businesses and institutions for common ownership of large solar PV farms built on low value land near suitable power lines. Grant funding is available from NYSERDA to create such facilities to serve apartments, City residents, small businesses, commercial units etc. We- the consumers are now empowered to make our own power for 20% lower than what Power company charges us today. In future, 20 years from now the power cost is expected to double. Therefore, why not fix the cost now and be independent from power company cost of energy. As the grants and tax credits reduce in future, we should act now and promote community distributed generation in all small Towns and Villages.

Why Wait? Listen to the Pope's message and act now. You will save Money, help our Economy and the Environment.

Our Leaders should not be afraid to promote Sustainability & Climate Change initiatives that save Money

Recent news conveys that some Leaders of Countries pushed the Scientists to soften the reality about what Climate change could do to our planet. Final released version of Global Climate change report is only what they wanted to be published.

Unfortunately this type of action only shows how ignorant they are about money savings aspects of many climate change initiatives. Energy Conservation when seriously taken and financed from the operating cost can generate fantastic results for the existing users. Our demand for conventional fuels automatically goes down and help climate change.

United Nations and other Country's Leaders should consider Energy Conservation as the new "Weapon of Mass Benefit". Let us call it "WMB" in contrast with "WMD",  where money is spent to destroy and not create. Why  not help invest in technologies that can save money and create Jobs?

Reality of how Corporate Executives think.. is that top managers are not ready to take risks and push changes that can save money due to perceived risk. What happens if it does not work? We know several industrial waste treatment system that can save them several hundred thousand dollars per year, but they are unable to decide because change is difficult to get Corporate approvals, when it competes with other Capital investments. These same projects may get quick "Yes" if we could offer financing the capital to pay for the change and Client only pays from the annual savings.  Thus they are relieved from taking the financial risk and need not request capital funds from the Corporate HQ. This " shared saving agreement "SSA" is performance based and could be good model to accelerate the adoption of Green Energy Saving technologies.

What is lacking now ,  is the financial institutions that can lend money to Technology providers so they can offer the shared savings agreement (SSA)  to potential customers.  NYS has recently created the Green bank which may be able to play a role to implement such concepts.

Taming the Increasing Cost of Energy with Solar PV by Sustainable Communities

Municipal leaders in Upstate NY face challenges of increasing cost of operations and reducing tax base. Fewer tax payers need to support these cost increases. Energy is one of the operational cost elements that can now be reduced by conservation efforts. However as the unit cost of power goes up from 12 cents to 24 cents in next 20 years, what can be done at the present?

Fortunately the cost of Solar PV has come down significantly and Federal and State tax credits or grants help reduce the capital cost to make it affordable. These cost factors have created an opportunity to work with third party developers who can finance the project based on a long term power purchase agreement with the Municipality.

This concept of public private partnership offers a Win Win proposition where the cost of power can be fixed and depends on the level of risks taken by the investors. If the Municipality wishes to take zero risk then they would end up paying more for the cost of power sold to the Municipality.

Some communities can see the benefit of Solar Power and are willing to make some capital contribution as Advance payment toward future purchase of the system after the private party has taken all of the tax benefits including faster depreciation. At this time the system can be purchased at fair market value. Communities willing to invest about 20% of the capital cost at the beginning of the project are finding that they can bring the cost of electricity down to 6-8 cents now and expect to reduce it further to 5-6 cents per kwh after 10 years and lasting for another 25 years for the life of the solar PV system. This is a smart way to control the cost of power for a very long term with small investment at the beginning. Energy Independence is now possible and some leading communities are on their way to achieve it. This approach can make all of their public buildings achieve  Net-Zero electric energy goal.

Good financial planning and consideration of risks should be done as the communities develop a strategy for their energy future. What ever path you take, do start the process and join the fast growing solar power trend based on available incentives in New York.

Good Luck!

Is the Solar PV system a passport to Energy Independence for sustainable communities?

The  Electrical power consumer now has the financial incentives available in most States in America to reduce the energy use and produce Solar Green power on their property. If they install a system that makes the same amount of power as they consume in one year then they are Energy independent from Electrical power point of view. This concept of distributed generation has the potential to set us FREE from dependence on Utilities grid system where the cost of power keeps going up.

Is it really possible to become Energy Independent with current incentives by installing Solar PV system?
Yes it is not only possible but in New York State, some small Municipalities have planned such projects and expect to do so by next July 4th 2013.

If you wanted to never worry about what the cost of power would be in future then you should look into the incentives available in your State and take action. In New York State, a large electrical energy consumers can partner with private company and obtain benefits of grants and financial incentives under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). Under this approach we have been able to achieve long term agreements that will allow communities an average cost of power in 6-8 cents range over the 20 year term of the agreement. Considering the life of Solar PV system to be over 30 years, the average cost of power over this life cycle comes down to 4-5 cents per kWh. This represents a great economic benefit when you consider that the same community may be paying 25 cents per kWh or more after 20 years.

We believe this is an opportunity every community should not miss and plan to implement a large scale solar PV system to save money and bring economic development to their community.

Where are the examples of new Sustainable Green housing Developments?

As the climate change is understood by more people in the Country and Government policies encourage funding the counter measures, then it's adaptation becomes a vital step.
What to do for adaptation are common questions.
Some visionary developers have thought beyond the box and set their goals higher to achieve net-zero energy goals to start their journey toward Energy Independence. Where are these examples to learn from and help others to do the same?
Please respond if you know such housing development projects completed anywhere in USA?
We will continue this search and report as we find them. Fortunately, New York State has some new financial incentive programs to help such projects developments. We hope to seek this help so that the extra cost of implementing the Green measures is kept to an affordable levels.

Climate Smart Communities Planning for Sustainability in New York

New York State has an ambitious plan to direct their investments in economic growth of communities while achieving Green energy goals to reduce our carbon foot print.

Under third round of consolidated funding application program in 2013, $750 Million Dollars are available for projects in many categories. This funding program also includes planning funds for communities that wish to plan and implement Green Energy Options to help deal with climate change and reduce dependence on nonrenewable energy sources.

New York's solar rising funding program and remote net metering offers a unique combination  of opportunity to communities that wish to control their energy costs and help create an environment for economic development.

The online grant applications for NY State projects are due starting on June 17th with a deadline of August 12, 2013. Municipalities that join the climate smart program of NYSDEC and adopt the policy of installing Sustainable green technologies are expected to have a better chance of getting the funding approved.

This is the time for forwarding thinking leaders to undertake the strategic plans to review their existing costs and find ways to reduce operating costs and invest in renewable energy generation and conservation projects.

Better future awaits New York with such programs and we hope that it can lead with economic growth and become an example for other states to follow.
It is time for renewal of the Empire States with such innovative programs.

The journey from "Net- Zero Energy" to "Energy Independence" for sustainable Green Coomunities

Does  Net-Zero Energy  mean Energy Independence?

The answer depends on the various forms of energy that are addressed by the User. This includes Electrical Energy, Thermal energy for Heat and Fuels for Transportation.

Normally these energy improvements depend on the incentives offered by the state or Federal Agencies. For example, currently New York State has very attractive grants and tax incentives for electrical power generation and energy efficiency retrofits. Some of our Municipal clients are now implementing projects to produce large scale solar PV system to produce as much power over the Year as they consume in their multiple buildings. They plan to achieve the first step of Net-Zero Energy  by 2014. We are proud to have these visionary Village and Town leaders in Finger Lakes region that have made the decision to do so.

So where do they go from this stage onwards?

Upgrade of the HVAC system would be next as the funds are available and long term financing of Geothermal and/or solar thermal systems may be the technologies to provide very efficient green system to replace non-renewable fuels and reduce their carbon foot print.

So what is the next step after they achieve this goal?

Transportation is key to our energy independence and finding alternative fuels for transportation and having the refueling infrastructure would be the next opportunity. CNG,  hybrid gas & Electric vehicles, and Electric Vehicles are the possible options to replace expensive gasoline or diesel with new cleaner fuels. This step will keep the money in America and avoid importing oil from overseas.

When all of these steps are completed the community will truly become an Energy Independent community. In Europe such communities exist now. It is time that America takes the lead and helps develops such examples of energy independence. It will be a dream come true. Hopefully in next 10 years.

Gas Prices were supposed to go down. What happened?

Have you seen the prices at the gas pump in last month? Gone up by more than 20 cents in Rochester NY and in most other places. The projections were that it will continue to go down over the year since we have developed more domestic resources and  the demand is down.

What went wrong?

Middle East and some concerns for their impact on oil supply interruption could be reason. Iran defies the world and Syria has a civil war. Korea wants to build more missile launching capability and Palestinian crisis remains unsolved. So how can we get out of this dependence on importing oil from such places which is affected by what happens in these countries?

We are lucky to have Oil and Gas resources of our own and we have the technology to invent smart solutions for transforming how we use energy.
We should go full blast with developing our own petroleum resources now so we can Stop importing oil from foreign countries. As a condition for developing these resources by drilling for oil and natural gases we should impose an " energy Independence " Tax on developers to invest in renewable energy technology. These dedicated funds should be protected and be only used for renewable energy grants, tax incentives, and creation of low interest revolving loan funds.

Imagine our hybrid cars giving 50 miles per gallon, all of our homes using LED lights, Wind mills installed away from the shores to avoid visibility, solar PV  farms powering our communities.. this dream can come true in 10 years.

We need our National leaders to decide to act and take advantage of our natural resources to enable our Energy Independence. Write to them and ask to do what is right for our economy and global environment.

New York Sun Rising- a message for Sustainability

For New Yorkers the state of the State address by our Governor Cuomo brings a message of hope and commitment for economic development. This bold strategy recognizes the value of Green renewable energy and how action must be taken to deal with Climate change.

Yesterday was the warmest day with temperatures in Finger Lakes approaching 60 F on January 12th. The snow is just about gone and green lawns are reminding us that our climate has changed and Global warming is also a reality.

The question is whether we act proactively to prevent future problems or react to problems when they happen? Sandy has left a multi Billion dollars damage for New York and New Jersey. What are where we may see similar or lot worse natural disasters?

New York is now investing in Green Energy technology with the new development plan as outlined in 2013 last week's Speech by Governor Cuomo. Solar and Farm waste digester energy are key element of this plan. This is lot safer approach to implement than our search for drilled oil and natural gas.
It is our hope that we do not settle for the old easy way with strong push from very strong and expensive lobby from established petroleum industry. This is the time to be pragmatic and use the revenues from nonrenewable sources to invest in developing renewable energy from solar, wind and bio gas digesters.

We are fortunate to have Leaders that have long term vision and are willing to take action to protect and preserve the environment. Sun Rising in NY brings new meaning to the State. Many communities now have an opportunity to become Energy Independent for serving their Municipal facilities.

It feels good  to be a New Yorker. Thank you Governor Cuomo for your Leadersip.

What Sustainable Communities need from the President ?

Climate Change and Global warming are realities to most people in  the world. However, when it comes of our U.S.Politics some leaders would rather ignore the white elephant in the room and hope no one notices.
Some would make fun of the predictions and deny that any preventive action is necessary.
These are very smart well educated leaders and in their heart they may acknowledge the environmental issues but their party platforms may dictate what they say in public.
It is unfortunate that as we get close to the elections no politician had the courage to talk about this most important and costly issue facing us all. It would have gone unnoticed but Mother Nature had some other plans. Hurricane Sandy came as the reminder that we either pay for prevention or pay for the consequences of inaction.
Mayor Bloomberg  of New York City finally broke the silence about Presidential choice and shared his conclusion today that Mr. Obama has better understanding of the issue and would do more to deal with Global Warming or Climate Change.
Republican Governor of New Jersey, is facing the direct impact of Warmer Ocean and hurricane caused by Climate Change. He does not have time to ponder over why it happened but is happy that FEMA and Federal help is there to share the loss.Hope every politician is asking an honest question about why are we not focusing on solutions and wasting time on denying the reality?
The financial impact of inaction about Global Warming would be more than any local conflicts, and cause pain to so many people. Our communities need Leaders that are honest and willing to forget what their party says and follow their heart.
Conservative views to reduce taxes and wastes must combine with Conservation of Energy and using Cleaner energy from renewable sources. Who can be against better air quality and healthy sustainable environment?
This election may finally be decided by who can lead us out of this mess and invest in better technologies to solve our Energy and Environmental problems.Let us hope that in next 5 days both candidates will stop avoiding this issue and talk about their action plan to deal with Global warming and Climate Change. Fortunately job creation, economic growth can also be byproducts of the Green initiatives.

U.S. Energy Independence before 2020, is Possible!

What a difference 5 years and technology makes! We could not project that America could become Energy Independent from Oil imports before Year 2020.During last 3 years we are seeing the impact of technology on natural Gas supply and historical lower prices. The drilling rigs, horizontal drilling and fracking technology is being utilized for shale derived energy development in several states within America. It is conceivable that oil price would also drop in 1-2 years and allow us to stop sending our money to other producing countries.

When we can say that America is now an energy exporting country, that will be the first true Independence Day. Could this day be July 2015, 2016? Only time will tell. It is no longer a question that will it happen... but when will it happen?

We know that Environmental damages are real risks at the point of energy extraction, therefore the well financed Developers must seriously make necessary investments to prevent such outcomes.Oil and Gas are the old nonrenewable energy sources that we can use now and invest the saved money into non renewable technology such as solar systems and biomass energy.

Climate change and Global warming are realities but also generate controversy within political parties. The common factor with no disagreement are Energy Independence, saving money and creating local economic development.

This is no time to waste our efforts in discussions and debates about environmental consequences.Let us take a pragmatic approach and develop alternative energy with the help of our own oil and gas resources and invest in energy conservation projects.

Energy Independence in 10 years?

The Hot extreme weather is in the news.Increased power demand resulting from hot weather and water shortages was reported to caused600 million people in India losing power just last week. What next?
Candidates running for President in America are talking about the goal of energy independence. I am anxiously waiting to learn more about how they plan to achieve it.
How do we seriously look at all of the options to be set free as consumers of power? What if we could make our own power where we live?
It is time to educate the public and encourage conservation with tax incentives and long term loan financing of conservation and power generation measures.
Solar energy is available to most of us and fortunately the cost per watt of solar PV panels is projected to be less than $1.00 by 2015. It was $6.00 just 5 years ago. WOW!
Is it possible that in few years each one of homeowner could reduce their demand by 35% via energy efficiency and then make their own power from solar source?
That will be a great day to Hope for? This is the real war we need to fight to deal with the natural consequences of global warming.
Let us divest from the weapons of destruction as we invest in weapons of constructive actions to develop our economy.
Please share your ideas on how we gain energy independence?

Distribubted Generation -Empowers consumer to become energy independent

We watch the horrors of recent Climate change as it devastates some parts of America and rest of the World. It make news and many wish that power generator should switch overnight to Green energy and shut down coal or oil based power plants etc.Realistically, it is not going to happen soon because it is cheaper for them to deny that Climate change has nothing to do with their emission etc. etc.
What choice does the Customer has now?
No one can stop from buying the power made by these plants and help increase distributed generation in our communities.
What is distributed generation? It is the ability to install power generation equipment at our homes so we do not rely on power made far away and transmitted over miles to the point of consumption. Many incentives and financing is available now so it is right time to act. New York State has generous policy to enable us to make our own power. We should take advantage of "on-bill" financing and change our lights to LED lights, and install solar panels and solar thermal system at each house. By paying for these improvements to the power company over 5 to 7 years the consumer will be paying comparable amount of their current energy bill and soon be reaping the benefit of lower energy costs for the life time.
Imagine the consumer making all or majority of their energy need at their site so power plants would have to reduce their plant production. Once the demand for power reduces, it will be possible to shut off the coal plants first and then oil fired units.
Other power generating systems running on natural gas or Nuclear would continue till Wind, Solar and Geothermal technologies gain capacity like Germany has already shown to the world.
Better future is in our hand.  Let us act now and take advantage of the incentives.

Celebrate July 4th with enhanced conservation

It felt so good to see gasoline selling for $3.35 in New York. The price drop over last month shows that if speculators are not playing commodity games and consumer is buying more efficient technology, then energy costs can be controlled. Energy independence must be our goal and we must do everything to first reduce the energy consumption and then produce new green energy to avoid using oil based products. Fortunately there is abundant supply of domestic natural gas that will help us shift to this cleaner fuel in the transition period.
Happy July 4th as we move to newer Green future.
