Renewable energy and sustaining farm businesses

All initiatives to promote sustainability involve green energy development. Rural communities in the States with dairy farms , should support and help local farmers develop anaerobic digesters to treat the manure and produce biogas. Another benefit would be to reduce air pollution caused by untreated manure application on farm land. Overall quality of life improves, a waste is converted to green energy and economic development would result from such approach.

Schools and Colleges going green

It was great experience to be part of a two days conference at Univ. of Maryland which hosted this sustainable green conference to share work done at many college campuses. One could see how students, faculty, facility management and administration is enhancing the environment and quality of life. Case histores from Yale, Harward, Tufts , and Univ. of Buffalo confirmed that it can be one and it should be done at all places of education. Each case involved getting community involved and set the scene for Town and Village governments to participate with educational institutions. The cooperative effort avoids waste brings efficiency and helps us save energy and the environment.
More later.
